Founded in 2002, the EIFOR Foundation of the Region of Valencia (Registered No. 362-V) is the promoter of XABEC. It is a private, non-profit organization in the areas of education and welfare.
Its aims are to encourage, through appropriate education and training, efficient entry to the labour market of the youth, the unemployed and immigrants, whatever their social background; and also the promotion and development of educational, social or welfare activities to improve the living conditions of children and youth.
The primary objective of the foundation is to serve the human being, whose inviolable dignity is enshrined in the Declaration of Human Rights and comes from being created by God.
It is an educational centre which includes the three subsystems of vocational training: Accredited Studies, Occupational and Continuing.
This system facilitates the integrated nature and the suitability between training and the labour market, just as training throughout life, worker mobility and unity in the labour market. It reinforces the European dimension in education and training, fosters institutional cooperation and facilitates the development of transnational initiatives, making the image of education and training sector in an international context.
As of 15th September 2008, Xabec is officially recognised as an Integrated Training centre. Especialising in the Areas of Maintenance and Professional Production Service. Asked on 15 September 2008 the recognition as an Integrated Training Center. The specialities that are taught belong to the Areas of Maintenance and Professional Production Services.
1) learning to know, that is, to have the ability to understand and competently interpret the world in which we live;
2) learn to do, that is, to contribute to the transformation of reality while respecting the environment, thus providing for an adequate preparation and professional qualifications;
3) learn to live together, relying on it with an education in the values that make human coexistence possible in a complex and diverse society;
4) learning to be, fostering the development and fulfilment of a humanised world. During each person's life is the construction of a more and more humanized world.
We emphasize the value of work as a dignifying element of the human person. We believe that the essential element of competitiveness is a job well done. For this reason it will be strengthened, through appropriate education, the dignifying culture of work, looking for the harmony of the ethical and moral principles of competitiveness in the job. Moreover, work and training tend to favour the integration of groups at a risk of social exclusion.
2.
Connection with companies. It is fundamental to have a quick and responsiveness capacity to the demands of the society and the productive system, which requires greater cooperation between companies and business organizations. Education and learning should be a lifetime endeavour. For this reason our educational project has an Advisory Group composed of representatives of various business confederations, professional associations, chambers of commerce, technological institutes and other type of institutions that ensure such cooperation.
The collaboration between enterprises and education centres is the key to guarantee the quality of initial vocational training and to improve the linkage of training with the production system. Training modules in the workplaces (Non-Labour Practices take up no less than 25% of teaching time in each Training Courses, and for that reason there will be established agreements with the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia and with different federations and other institutions.
3.
High quality training. Trends observed in the most successful countries in organizing the technical-vocational education in connection to the labour market, reveal the importance of adopting the approach of competences for employment as a mix of fundamental skills, both horizontal (communication, organization, teamwork, computing ...) and vertical (specific from each qualifications). The acquisition of social skills and emotional competencies favours adaptation and employability. Xabec is adequately equipped with facilities that fulfil these training needs.
4.
Education in languages. In the context of globalization of the economy and the labour market, it is considered essential to develop language skills. Students receive adequate training in this respect, making geographical mobility less problematic.
5.
Command of ICTs. We also consider basic the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies in the various branches of knowledge as an essential element for the acquisition of skills and competencies necessary for adaptation and constant learning, in an economy and a society in permanent transformation. All students learn an innovative and intensive use of Information Technologies, applied in their educational and training process.
6.
Personal guidance. Students who attend our school have, throughout their training, a highly-trained tutor who ensures their smooth integration into the institution and can guide them in their personal and professional decisions.
The EIFOR Foundation of the Region of Valencia, established in March 2002, aims at promoting, fostering and supporting social, welfare, cultural, research and development initiatives.
XABEC Project –a training centre that teaches the three education subsystems (accredited, vocational and continuing) - is conceived as a social work dedicated to professional, cultural and human promotion of people, especially the youth who wish to obtain a suitable training for job placement.
XABEC is open to those who want this kind of education, regardless of ideological, religious, social, economic or racial backgrounds. In the accredited education, as the key to achieving personal success of young men, it has been opted for a differentiated instruction pedagogical system; with a comprehensive tutorship as a methodology. Students and their families accept freely this methodology when applying for admission.
As an educational institution, consistent with the transcendental conception of man and history, provides an education in moral standards, among which are:
All teaching and training activities are based on the principles of the Catholic Church. The Prelature of Opus Dei is in-charge of the spiritual and doctrinal formation. All religious activities are open to the public, and conducted with respect for freedom of consciences.
The foundations on which the Xabec Educational Project rest are:
Different educational levels and courses have the development and cultural and scientific content required by current legislation, and are complemented by other activities to achieve a complete training, considering the human, spiritual, civic, artistic, social, sporting, and other aspects.
Education has a custom character. Each student is assigned a mentor who will be responsible for his personal training and professional guidance, promoting a close collaboration with families.
Courses and activities are conducted to ensure the continuous training of teachers, personal and professional, as well as administrative and maintenance staff.
Xabec, corporate work of Opus Dei -Catholic Church institution whose mission is to spread the Christian message that every person is called to holiness and that every honest work can be sanctified- is an educational center which, besides trying to provide a quality education, promotes the Catholic faith and Christian values within an atmosphere of respect for freedom of each student. This spirit is reflected in the Comprehensive Education Plan.
What is a corporate work of Opus Dei?
Corporate apostolic works are those that, promoted by the faithful of the Prelature with the assistance of many others, have entrusted their spiritual and doctrinal orientation to the Prelature.
Corporate apostolic works are legally constituted in each country. As mentioned above, they are run by people who established them, not Opus Dei. The funding organizations have full responsibility for the organizational, economic, etc. of those institutions, and are the owners of the facilities and materials.
Each undertaking is financed in the same way as any other similar institution: e.g., by residential fees, grants, donations, etc. Corporate works regularly run at a loss, given the type of work they undertake and the fact that they are not intended to be profit-making. For this reason, they may receive official subsidies from government agencies, as well as grants from private foundations or companies. Another source of funding is donations from the followers of Opus Dei; from the co-operators and many others.
Among the corporate activities are schools, universities, centers for the advancement of women, medical clinics in underdeveloped countries or areas, rural schools, vocational schools, college dorms, etc.

Now the greatest effort focuses in providing employment through participation in various training activities that take place in Xabec.
