In early April four students departed to do work placement outside Spain. This mobility is the first to be carried out within the Erasmus Programme of the European Union. Alvaro, Esteban and Francisco are staying in Germany, as a result of the collaborative effort with Handwerkskammer Koblenz (Koblenz’s Chamber of Crafts). Besides, Juan has gone to Izmit, Turkey, a city near Istanbul. The contact institution in this country has been Endüstri Meslek Izmit Teknik Lisesi (Technical and Industrial Vocational Training School in Izmit).
Xabec hopes they take full advantage of such an interesting experience.

03/16/12 - Xabec visit the Markiezaat College - Holand

Once again Xabec rised to the challenge to widen our minds and our goals in a whole. This time we went to Holand to visit Markiezaat College, an outstanding Training School based in the city of Bergen op Zoom, close to the South border of Holand.

The “semana fallera” provided us with the opportunity, not only to have a great time getting to know all the Markiezaat workshops and training rooms, but also to make a pleasant tour around Antwerpen (at a time part of the Spanish Empire) and Brussels, which claims to be one of the core centres of the European Community.

No doubt there were many things and aspects we enjoyed very much at Markiezaat College. All of us got really excited with everything we saw there, and felt very thankful for the way we were welcomed by all the staff. But, for all those enriching things –among them we don´t forget the visit to Philip Morris Int. Facilities-, as Toni explained in the last official meeting, there is one particular matter that will make that visit really unforgetable for us as a teachers: the student´s performance. We all agreed to put it this way: “we fell in love with them”. The way they managed to conduct the presentations transmitted something like “maturity” and, more over, made us feel as a succesful students who found themselves surprised to achieve the end of new tasks –such as designing a three dimensión “wistle” or setting a “flow-code”- as if we had been trained for that purpose for ages. And on top of that, they made it all on a polite style, and speaking a fluent English. That´s food for thought.

There´s Little space in the paper to convey every single feeling or learning experience we´ve had in those days. Not even the host of pictures we took could do so. But we will always save some space in ourselves to remember, and to learn.

In the days to come, when we see or hear about Holand, all of us will probably bring to the fore these good memories and smile broadly as for a picture, and will “SAY CHEESE!!”

02/08/12 - Visit to the Paris Chamber of Commerce

In this project both schools will collaborate with international renowned companies, such as TOTAL and IBERDROLA. There is an international collaboration between the two schools and their departments, which will implement the European projects in order to achieve the proposed goals with greater efficiency.

On the other hand, the CFI confirmed its desire to join the European network of centres InnMain, led by our school.
